What to Expect:
The First Visit:
The first visit consists of a 1 hour assessment. During that time we will ask specific questions regarding your injury/complaint. This is followed by a biomechanical examination consisting of observing you move and special tests of the injured area. Once a diagnosis is made, the physiotherapist will explain their findings and answer all your questions. The first visit will usually consist of a treatment as well.
Follow-up visits:
Follow-up treatments typically last 30-60 minutes. A variety of treatments will be provided depending on the injury/complaint. The physiotherapist will work directly with you for most of this treatment.
What to Bring:
On your first visit- bring your insurance plan information, shorts and tee-shirt (tank top if shoulder problem), any special footwear, braces or orthotics you would like to discuss.
Write a list of questions and concerns that you may have. We'll take the time to listen and answer these questions.
Bring your doctor’s referral if you have one however, you DO NOT NEED A DOCTOR’S REFERRAL TO SEE A PHYSIOTHERAPIST. Some insurance plans may request one in order to cover physiotherapy however this is rare. Please contact your insurance company to make sure.
